St John Rochester, Our Shephard Birmingham, and Redeemer Birmingham along with those of us from Octane who were not attending the breakfast at the Soli church.
To God be the Glory!!!
The Flock was invited to breakfast at the Soli church this morning. Afterwards, they completed their VBS and said their goodbyes.
We are officially back in the USA! After a final day of ministry, we have loaded up and are headed to Phoenix for the night.
More updates on the rest of our day as soon as we can!
The build team has completed all of their tasks as of this evening! APU will provide additional support to work alongside the family to finish plastering and painting the interior of the home.
The homeowner works until 6:30pm each night, so we could not have the key ceremony on the traditional Thursday afternoon, so we scheduled it for this evening- Mexicali Flexicali!
Octane and APU presented the family with the keys, quilts from the women of HWLC, Spanish bibles from the Gideons, and tiles salvaged from the original structure that were decorated with bible excerpts.
We prayed together and said our goodbyes. What an amazing blessing to all of us!!!
We started by driving to the autism center and we played with the kids there. We played duck duck goose and colored. Then team Barnabas showed up and prayed over us. They left and the autism center fed us lunch, but that was not enough so we went to a taco stand and ate. After that we went to the park site, but we were twenty minutes late because of lunch so all the kids where already there. We played with the kids there and did our skit. We left at 5:30 so many kids already went home by the time we left. Then we went to the key ceremony.
Soli was also very fun. We sang songs at the beginning and everyone had fun. Our skit was about God providing manna to the Israelites. It went smoothly. For our craft we made Beaver dams on a plate and everyone liked it. Then we went to the park. The little kids played on the jungle gym. The kids our age talked with a few of us. Emma and I played soccer with a few of the boys and it was really fun. Emma and I obviously won. Then my mom got bubbles out and all the kids played with them. It was a great day -Emily
