The large group of travelers has finally landed in California! We were greeted by our drivers upon arrival and are en route to our hotel in San Diego for tonight for much needed sleep. Good night and God bless!
Officially on our way!
What an exciting day! 14 missionaries are officially in California with 3 more close behind! Most of us (29) have just landed in Nashville for our layover. Two more will fly tomorrow before we officially head into Mexicali on Friday. Thank you for the loving send off at DTW! Please continue to keep us in our prayers. They are working! God has blessed us on so many ways already!! No traffic issues, smooth check in, and safe travels! God is great!!!
Here we go…. well, some of us!
Today, seven of our travelers flew to California – the first wave! Tonight we are printing off all the boarding passes for tomorrow. Thank you all for your continued prayers and support! We are so blessed!
Preparing to leave
Another Mexicali trip is upon us! As our missionaries finish packing for their material needs of the trip, we also begin to prepare our hearts and minds to share the love of Jesus Christ. What a blessing to have just had the opportunity to celebrate Easter with our families! Alleluia! He is Risen!! Thank you for your prayers and support throughout this journey! We can’t wait to see what God has planned for each and every one of us!
Heading home
We are currently in line at the downtown crossing ready to head back to LA. Please prayer for a smooth crossing and a safe trip to LA and then home. More updates to come soon. Thank you for all the continued prayers and support.
Team VIBES Update
Hello everyone!! This is Allie from VIBES giving you an update. This week so far has been great for the VIBES. Yesterday (Tuesday) VIBES went to the orphanage to start our day. There we started off just making bracelets with the teens, playing soccer, and just getting to know them. Then we decided to do our VBS with them. That went really well and they enjoyed it a lot, so we agreed. That was awesome because we got to spend more time with the teens than expected. We made really good relationships and connected with all of them, despite the language barrier.
Then we went to Refugio. The men were so happy to see us again. We ran our day 3 VBS and had them do crafts to go with the lesson. They had a lot of fun with that. We played basketball, made bracelets, and just made deeper connections with the men, A team from camp also came to visit us there and they were really impressed by what we were doing. They gave us an award and told the whole camp about us.
Though we are upset we don’t get showers this year, our team has been doing really well. It really is incredible how good we have been getting along despite how tired we have been.
See you all soon!

Update from Amy
We will try to put up a couple pictures tonight!
I was able to visit 3 out of 5 of our teams today…they rocked! I was so proud of all that I saw. I wish I had so much time to write to you all, but I just want you to know that everyone is doing great, our sites are amazing and all of our student leaders are fabulous. God has so much in store for all of our students!
Much more to come

Updates!!
The Park Team…
On Sunday we picked up some kids and went to the park. We did creation for that day and our craft was a creation wheel that showed every day of creation and we also did a skit where God walked around and brought up each person which represented each day of creation. I feel our team made an impact on day 1 by showing the kids how we care and making them lunch. Even though the kids didn’t necessarily get the full point of the skit and the craft, they understood more on Monday – day 2. This day the craft was a burning bush craft with tissue paper and we did a Moses and burning bush skit. We also made the peanut butter sandwiches and when the kids saw we had food they swarmed us, but it was really heart warming to see them smiling and playing. The kids mostly loved it when we played songs. They danced and sung along with us. We are looking forward to making a big impact and leaving a mark in the next three days.
VIBE update…
On Sunday we went to the foster home, Una Salida, for the first time. We met all 21 boys & girls and tried to learn their names. In the end, we changed our crafts and made name tags and decorated them in order to remember their names. The girls loved making bracelets and braiding hair and the boys mostly hid from the swarms of girls and played soccer with Maria and Ari. After Una Salida, we went to Refugio de Amor, the men’s facility. Sunday was our second day at Refugio, so we tried to do our VBS and crafts. The men only wanted to make bracelets and play soccer. We ended the day at the build site, eating the amazing dinner prepared by Yadira, Karina, and the young adult team.
Monday update coming soon!
From Amy: The teams ROCK. God is GREAT. and everyone is loving Mexicali missions!

Happy Easter! He is risen!
Our week is under way! Let’s start with Friday evening.
Friday:
The boarder crossing was fairly smooth! Only stop was the cargo van. The van was stopped, x – rayed and then let through. We then traveled to the camp where we met up with the Fanta clan and some of our Mexican friends. We set up camp, ate dinner, and then had a Good Friday service under the stars. The students were all tired so we settled in for our first night under the stars.
Saturday:
Our first full day in mexico was full of exploring our sites and preparing for ministry. Team Weeshnaw (those on the park site) went to the park to see the kids and prepare them for our week.
Team Vibes went to the men’s clinic to just get to know the area and get a feel for how things work. Definitely a different reaction this year then the team had last year! The loved it and were ready for their week of ministry. They followed this with heading to the build team to help build walls and play with the kids of the neighborhood.
The Young Adult Team checked out a new PT clinic in the area. This is a new site that we hope to one day be able to partner with here in Mexicali! They also did some grocery shopping to prepare for a meal they plan to serve to the people of the community where we are building.
The build team had a very successful day! Plumbing, electrical, and the foundation of the home all got finished! God is good.
Team Stephen had a free day to fill in and visit other sites before their week of hard work!
Sunday:
The day started with a morning Easter service at camp. Each team packed up and headed out. At this point donde comprar viagra each team is still out playing and spreading God’s love throughout Mexicali! We will have updates on their days to come! Continued prayers for the week would be great! We love and miss you all!
